The Henderson Rec Players present Li’l Abner, Thursday
July 17th-Saturday July 19th at 8pm at E.M. Rollins
auditorium. Tickets are $7 at the door. This production

According to NC Law, one booster of Tdap (tetanus/diphtheria/
pertussis) is required for ALL adolescents attending public
school who will be entering the 6th grade on or after August
1st 2008 and five or more years have passed since the last
dose. This also applies to ALL adolescents not attending
public schools 12 years of age. Vance Co. Health Dept. offers
immunizations every Monday from 1pm-4pm and every
Friday from 8:30am-11am. Granville Co. Health Dept. offers
immunizations every Tuesday from 1pm-4pm and every
Thursday from 8:30am to 11am.

The regular monthly meeting of The American Legion
will be held July 11th at 6:30pm at The American Legion Hut.
All members are encouraged to attend.

Grace Missionary Baptist Church, Kittrell NC will be having
revival, July 14-18 at 7pm nightly. The Rev. Haywood Gray,
Exectutive Secretary of the General Baptist Association in
Raleigh will be guest Revivalist. Please come and hear this
dynamic preacher/teacher as he delivers the word of God.
Guest choirs will render music nightly. Please come, all

Attention farmers and ranchers. The calendar says summer,
but now’s the time to think about fall elections. From June 15th
through August 1st, you can nominate a candidate to serve on
your local USDA Farm Service Agency county committee.
Nomination forms can be picked up and dropped off at your
local FSA or USDA Service Center. Voting takes place this
fall. So make a difference by nominating a candidate to serve
on your FSA county committee. FSA counts on you: Nominate
and Vote!

The Franklin-Vance-Warren Opportunity, Inc., Head Start is
accepting children for the 2008-2009 program year for Franklin,
Vance, Warren, and Granville Counties. Children must be 3 years
of age as of August 31, 2008. Parents of children with mental,
physical, or emotional impairments are encouraged to apply.
The program will make special provisions to serve children with
special needs. These provisions include but are not limited to

seeking candidates for Full Time Utility Trainee positions.
Candidates must have a high school degree or equivalent;
posses a valid driver’s license and good driving record; and

Henderson-Vance Crime Stoppers is having a Yard Sign Sale.
These are signs with the crime stoppers information on them
for sale to the general public. They will let the criminals in
Vance County know that the citizens don’t want them in our

Did you know summer months are most deadly for teen drivers?
According to AAA, crash deaths for teen drivers increase by nearly
20% in July and August. A teen driving study conducted by SADD
(Students Against Drunk Driving) showed that teens succumb to
more risky in-vehicle behavior during the summer months, including
driving with three or more passengers in the car and driving late
at night. Please consider increasing your support for the Youth
Reckless Driving Prevention UR the spokesperson campaign
this summer.
