In order to ensure your public service announcement is advertised, WIZS has made a policy change. We will no longer accept hand written submissions. This change will ensure the on-air personalities will be able to read your announcement.
If your organization has an upcoming event, you may now submit your information on the form below, we ask that your submission be email at least 2 weeks prior to the event in order to serve you better. WIZS will be happy to post your event below and announce it on air.

The Uniform and Shoe Show is back for 2 days at Maria
Parham Medical Center in the John T. Church Classroom.
Wed. Feb. 8th from 7am-4pm and Thurs. Feb. 9th from
7am-2pm. Whites, scrubs, shoes and accessories will be
available. They accept cash, check, visa, mastercard,
discover and payroll deduction.

The Vance Granville Business Network will meet Thursday
Feb. 9th at 7:30 AM at the Granville County Chamber of
Commerce Office. Business in Vance and Granville Counties
interested in meeting network members or are considering

There will be an American Red Cross Blood Drive at Maria
Parham Medical Center on Friday, Feb. 10th from 10am
until 2:30pm in the Classroom of the hospital. Appointments
are suggested but walk ins will be accepted between the hours
of 11am until 2pm. Donors must be 17 year old, good health

The American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary of
Post 99 will host the Annual Valentine’s Ball on Feb. 17th
from 9pm until 2am. Tickets are $10.00 at the door. Dress

A 10th grade meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23rd at
6:15 pm. The purpose of the workshop is to review test results
for the PLAN and to inform parents about course selections

Henderson/Vance Recreation and Parks Dept. will hold Youth
T-Ball Registration from March 5th-March 10th. Weekday
hours 9am-5pm and hours for Sat. March 10th are 9am-2pm.
Registration will be held at Aycock Recreation Center and
the fee is $40.00. Ages for T-Ball are 5-6. New participants
must present a birth certificate at the time of registration.

High School registration for 9th graders who will attend
Southern Vance High School will be held on Thursday,
March 8th at 6pm. The purpose of this meeting is for
parents and students to register for 9th grade courses,
meet with teachers and tour the school. For more info

Applications for school year 2012-2013 will be available at
Vance Charter School, 1227 Dabney Drive in Henderson or on
the school’s website www.vancecharter.org from Jan. 17th
through March 2nd. The admissions lottery will be held on

NWS PEACE Program is a non-profit and CSIET approved
program seeking caring families in your area to host high school
students from various countries for the 2012 school year. The
students are 15-18 years of age and will begin arriving in
August to spend 5-10 months with a caring family while
attending your local high school. You can be a single parent,
retired, have small children, teens or no children. All the
students require is a bed, meals and a caring family. Students
must be matched with a host family by July 1st. If you would

You can volunteer once a week or just once a month with a Vance
County Schools’ student by being a “Lunch Buddy”. This is an
opportunity to spend time with a student or group of students,
eat lunch and serve as a role model. To be a lunch buddy,
contact the school in which you are interested in volunteering
and speak with the guidance counselor. Help make a difference
in a child’s life.

Vance County Schools are collecting soup labels and box tops
to raise needed funds for educational materials. Box tops can
be found on General Mills food procucts and soup labels from
Campbell’s soup. To submit labels contact your local school or

organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities
in the work force. Donations of stool like chairs with backs on

NC are liscensed, accredited and specialize in spay/neuter
surgeries. Cat spay and neuters are $70, dog spay and neuters

The Vance County Animal Shelter is accepting any kind of
bedding or cash donations to buy bedding for the animals. You
can drop off donations Monday-Thursday from 8am-4:30pm
and Friday and Saturday 8am-12pm.

The Angel Food Ministries program is now available through
Spring Street Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson. A new
menu is available each month, choose what you would like and
place your order by the deadline. Pay when you order. The following
Saturday, go to the church “Fellowship Hall” to pick up your order.
